Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center is envisioned to educate and promote the areas of viticulture, enology and culinary practices. Located in Prosser , Washington , it is a destination facility showcasing Washington ’s wine industry. Dr. Walter Clore is largely responsible for the introduction of wine grapes in Washington . His initial 1937 trial of 20 grape types expanded to over 312 varieties at his retirement nearly 40 years later. His dedication to his work spawned an industry that today is measured in the billions of dollars, thousands of jobs, hundreds of wineries and wine grape growers and more than 29,000 vineyard acres.
Boxwood’s identity places a silhouette of Dr. Clore in the place that he felt most comfortable, the vineyards. Emphasis is placed on Wine and Culinary Center because most of the public does will not know of his accomplishments until after visiting the facility. The logo is being used on business papers, signage and web site.
