As part of a larger master plan, Boxwood designed the expansion of company offices by linking two existing office buildings together and adapting a former cold storage building turned machine shop into new office space.  The concrete block machine shop building will be partially covered in perforated corrugated steel panels that are allowed to rust to be more sympathetic to the brick facades of the other two buildings.  The cut outs in the steel panels are “tipped up” to provide sun shading for windows and doors.  Roof mounted solar panels tied to a solar battery will help offset energy usage for all three buildings.  This project will be done in phases with the first phase scheduled for completion in 2016.
