LEWIS CREEK PARK AND VISITOR CENTER

BELLEVUE, WA - This 50 acre wetlands park hosts wildlife, miles of boardwalks, a soccer field, baseball fields, a basketball court & a visitor’s center. The visitor center building speaks of water and the pooling of ideas and is designed as a physical interpretation of how water gathers and forms a wetland and then a stream. It is a simple 5000 square foot structure employing straight forward materials. Sustainable features include a green roof, reclaimed redwood, extensive daylighting, natural ventilation as well as flexible multi-purpose spaces that can be configured in a variety of ways.
